How To Throw The Best Galentine's Day Brunch

“Women empowering women” is just about every gals mantra for 2023 and what better way to celebrate the women in your life than by hosting Galentine’s Day? If you’ve never heard of Galentine’s Day, Leslie Knope from Parks and Rec explains it best: “Every February 13th my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home and we just come and kick it breakfast style. Ladies celebrating ladies. It’s like Lilith Fair, minus the angst. Plus frittatas.” Now that’s something I can get behind! Putting together a Galentine’s brunch is actually a lot easier than you might think. In this post I’ll share all the tips and tricks I’ve learned over the years from hosting a yearly Galentine’s party and hopefully it inspires you to host one with your best gal pals too!

The Decor

I love to make an experience for my guests so I knew I wanted to go all out for my brunch! The waffle plates were perfect for the brunch theme and actually very reasonably priced! Almost all of my decorations were purchased from Target if not TJ Maxx. You can find the sources to all the items purchased through my LIKEtoKNOW.it by searching Home By Hiliary or heading over to my page here. Since the waffle plates were the inspiration for my brunch, I stuck with the classic red and pink color scheme. Plastic silverware and glassware kept the maintenance low since they could be easily tossed once guests left for the day, making clean up much easier for me! I kept the centerpieces simple with faux florals, a pink runner, and red heart garland draped along it. For a simple backdrop by the food and bar cart, I used heart shaped balloons which were so cute!

The Food

A reason I love the idea of hosting a brunch is because breakfast food is so quick and easy to make! Our menu consisted of a ham and egg skillet, muffins, fresh fruit, cinnamon rolls, and other tasty treats like cake, and cookies. I prepped the food for my skillet the night before so that all I had to do was throw it in the pan in the morning! The key is to choose foods that are simple for guests to eat as well as tasty! Other great options would be sausage, egg bites, mini pancakes, or a breakfast casserole.

The Drinks

You can’t have a brunch without mimosas! Well, you can, but what fun would that be?! I chose three different types of mixer for the champagne: orange, watermelon, and peach. Having a variety gives guests the ultimate experience and it’s fun to try new combinations as well! To garnish their drink, I put out fresh berries and paper straws. You can also use Teaspressa sugar cubes which flavors your champagne with one small cube! You can find those here.

The Fun!

To keep the party going after brunch, we set up the Prosecco pong! It’s like beer pong but with champagne which makes it classy. 😉 It was a lot of fun to play and feel like we were all back in college again! And to finish of the fun, we popped some confetti because why not!?
