Cat Themed 4th Birthday Party
It was a CAT-tastic day celebrating our first daughter’s 4th birthday earlier this month! Our girl loves kitties and I think the party turned out purr-fectly! Alright no more kitten around with the cat puns… Check out all the pics and details about her paw-some day!
The Decor
So for Rowan’s party, I wanted to reuse some of the decor from her younger sister Ruby’s first birthday party which I hosted the day before. (I don’t recommend two separate parties in one weekend, but I really wanted Ruby to have her own since it was her first!) Items like the table runner, balloons, and dessert table backdrop were all reused and for the tables I made large balls of yarn as a centerpiece! They turned out so cute and were very easy to make. I got foam balls from the craft store in various sizes and then wrapped them with yarn I chose to match the rest of the decor! For extra filler on the table I added confetti, paw prints, mouse cat toys, and some cat cut outs as well. Super cute and fairly simple!
The Treats
Party treats included cupcakes which I topped with fun cat picks, and decorated sugar cookies which turned out so adorable! Rowan’s one request was that the girls eat out of cat bowls (lol) so I got some vanilla cupcake flavored Goldfish “cat treats” and the girls ate those out of their cat bowls! The girls had lots of fun with that!
The Fun
To start off the party, I had the girls adopt their own kitties! They got to pick which cat they wanted and then they made them personalized collars with pipe cleaners, beads, and cat charms. These turned out so adorable and it was fun to see how they all decorated their collars. When they were done, they got to grab some cat ear headbands, a homemade cat toy I made out of paper straws, feathers, ribbon, and pom poms, as well as an official certificate of adoption for their new furry friend! After that, the girls got to play a Pin The Hat on The Cat game which was really funny to watch! We also had a cat shaped piñata filled with yummy treats and trinkets.
