Our Tropical Backyard Patio Reveal
So I’ve been meaning to share a post on our patio for a while now but with Covid shipping delays, some rainy weeks, and well ya know, raising a toddler, this post has taken longer to create than I was anticipating! But our patio is ready for it’s big reveal and I am so excited to show you! We have worked SO hard to get this space to where it is today and it’s hard to believe how far it’s come since we moved in!
To give you an idea of what it looked like, when we first moved here about 6 years ago, the patio didn’t even exist! It was actually a smaller deck. Brian took the deck apart and we had plans to do a concrete patio instead. We preferred the patio over the deck for easier maintenance and we made it much larger than the deck was. Because of the construction work on the house as well as the backyard, the grass was a hot mess but luckily Brian has a green thumb because he had grass growing in no time! Over time we purchased new furniture for the patio starting with our small conversation set, then our outdoor dining table. This year we decided to finish it up and added some sun loungers, a hanging papasan chair, and our absolute favorite, the stock tank pool. That has it’s own blog post coming soon! We spruced it all up with plenty of plants: ferns which I love because they are so hardy, and hibiscus which Brian loves for their bright colors and constant blooms.
This space really is one we truly love and enjoy! It’s pretty and functional and that is why we get so much use out of our patio. I’ve always been a Fall girl but now that we have this awesome patio space, it makes me wish summer lasted a little longer! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you love our patio as much as we do!
