Patriotic Family Room Decor

Memorial Day is right around the corner and this year I wanted to go all out with the decor in our family room! We recently got new furniture in here which you can read all about on this post, so I was excited to decorate this space. This is our most used room in the house other than the kitchen so I wanted it to feel patriotic and cozy without feeling gimmicky since I plan on keeping this decor up through July!

For my coffee table, I kept the flowers and tray I was already using and added 2 small flags and a wooden sign. It’s a simple centerpiece, but I think it makes a nice statement!

The fireplace is always one of my favorite things to decorate for the holidays. Every year for Memorial Day and the 4th, I like to use these patriotic paper fans as a statement above the mantle. They really add a wow factor to the room and draw your eyes to the space! I also like to add a banner as well as anchoring decor pieces on the side like these American stars. For the bottom, I kept it simple with a fun patriotic pickup truck and some wooden accents.

On the couch, I added 2 red and blue striped pillows that match the blanket perfectly as well as a rustic flag pillow. These pieces really complete the space nicely and are practical too! Overall it feels patriotic and homey and I look forward to keeping this decor up through July! Do you like to decorate with patriotic decor? Let me know in the comments below!
